Dr. Dan Spencer was elected as second vice-president of the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations (COCSA) at their annual convention on November 8th in New Orleans, Louisiana. Former U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Regina Benjamin was the keynote speaker for the event.
The Congress is an ‘association of associations’ that represents over fifty chiropractic state organizations, as some states have more than one group. In turn, over 32,000 Doctors of Chiropractic and their patients are also represented. COCSA helps state associations improve access and reimbursement for patients, and helps with issues such as implementation of the Affordable Care Act and chiropractic healthcare for veterans. Dr. Spencer is now a member of the COCSA Executive Committee which also includes; president, Dr. John LaMonica (White Plains, NY); first vice-president, Dr. Don Cross (Port Orange, FL); Secretary, Bharon Hoag (Columbus, OH); and Treasurer, Debbie Ryan (Anchorage, AK).
Dr. Spencer is the owner of the Contact for Health Chiropractic Centers in Hudson and Reading, and serves as a member of the Hillsdale Community Health Center physician staff. He also currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors.
