Hudson Educational Foundation announces plan to assist teachers

April 8, 2010 —

Claude Rowley, President of the Board of Directors of the Hudson Educational Foundation, announces a new opportunity for the community and parents to provide financial assistance to the teachers of the Hudson Area Schools.

In cooperation with the Hudson Area Schools, the Hudson Educational Foundation will accept donations in the name of a teacher. Each year parents give small gifts to teachers at the Christmas holiday season and at the end of the year in recognition of all the teacher’s have done to advance their child’s education. During these tough financial times, the Hudson Area Schools and the Hudson Educational Foundation want to offer parents the opportunity to donate the funds that would be used to purchase these gifts for teachers to the Hudson Educational Foundation in the teacher’s name.

The federal tax deductible donation would be made in honor of the teacher and recognized publicly. The Foundation will publicize the donor and the teacher. Teachers who have had gifts made in their names will be recognized at the open day activities of the school district each fall. 100% of donations will go to the designated teacher. The teachers can then use the funds to purchase much needed supplies for their classrooms and students.
