June 12, 2014 —
“Music in the Park,” sponsored by the Hudson Chamber of Commerce, gets under way Thursday, June 12 at Webster Park, with performer Roy Schneider.
Schneider is an award-winning songwriter and recording artist, performing his original songs on stages all over the U.S. and abroad since 2008. Twice a finalist in the prestigious Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition, Schneider has performed formal showcases at Folk Alliance conferences in Texas, new York, North Carolina and Arkansas, and in 2013 was a contestant on season 5 of NBC Television’s “The Voice.”
A successful ‘Kickstarter’ campaign funded his 2012 CD release, Walls that Talk, debuting at #3 on the September Folk DJ chart and added to Pandora radio shortly after.
Roy tours all across the United States accompanied by his wife and musical partner, Kim Mayfield. They visit the Southern, Eastern and Midwestern regions most often, and have shared billings with the likes of Sam Bush, The Indigo Girls, Mary Gautier and Over the Rhine. Roy has also performed alongside many other artists onstage including Tom Paxton, Gove Scrivenor, Freebo and John McEuen.
