Waterball, band battle highlight Saturday fun

Saturday, July 31st in Downtown Hudson, Michigan will be a special day for Family Fun!

The Farmer’s Market will be open from 9am to noon at the Hudson Community Center parking lot, 323 W Main Street, Hudson. (Do we want to mention the first batch of sweet corn arriving?)

The 15th Annual Hudson Athletic Boosters 5K run starts at Hudson High School at 8AM and a Golf Scramble at Evergreen Golf Course flights start at 7:30 am and 1:00 pm. Call (517) 403-5545 for more information.

A Firefighters Field Day, with Water Ball tournament will take place on Lane Street, next to Bob’s Market House from 10AM until 3PM. Local fire department teams will compete for the inaugural Will Carleton Cup Trophy. Kids will also be able to participate in a bucket brigade.

A Battle of the Bands will begin Saturday evening at 7PM-10:30PM outdoors in downtown Hudson at the Community Center, 323 W Main Street, Hudson. As many as 8 bands or musical acts will compete for a first place prize of $250. The winner will be invited to headline the Bean Creek Heritage Festival in Hudson on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Winners will be determined by audience votes, $1 a vote or 6 for $5. Bring your lawn chairs for seating and arrive early.
