Carol Turner named Teacher of the Year

The Lenawee County Federation of Women’s Clubs recently awared Lincoln School’s Carol Turner with the clubs traveling trophy for Teacher of the Year.
Turner has been a teacher of 28 years, having taught high school English, third grade and reading. She has been a Reading Recovery Teacher of ten years, and has enjoyed working with both teachers and students in the field.

She spends much of her time with the lowest-performing students, and gets a great joy out of seeing them make gains. “Being able to read is so important for students to be successful.

Turner attended Adrian College, Siena Heights, Eastern and Western Michigan Universities. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Has been a presenter at many parent workshops and professional development opportunities for teachers, and has taught classes at Siena Heights.
