Big Wheels Deliver Meals: October 6th will be the third time that our senior centers have asked “Big Wheels” to deliver meals to homebound older adults in their communities. Normally, meals are delivered by volunteers who use their own vehicles and are eligible for mileage reimbursement, which some of the drivers refuse to accept. “Big Wheels” delivering meals insures that decision makers are fully aware of the importance of the home delivered meals program and their local senior center. Typically, “Big Wheels” can be elected officials such as county commissioners, city managers, mayors, township officials or any well known personality. By doing this program at each senior center in the county on the same day, it becomes a very special event.
