November 9, 2011 —
Voters in the Hudson School District passed the 2.3 mill bond proposal by a comfortable margin of 725 to 651, out of a total of 1376 votes cast.
Randy Darr, chairman of the Committee for Securing Hudson Area’s Future, the prime backer of the bond, said, “I’m just excited for the school and the community, and I’m excited to keep the momentum going in good old Hudson.”
School Superintendent Michael Osborne said,”We’re very thankful it has passed. It is an extremely important proposal for the district, and it will be an important prat of our recovery plan.”
Osborne said it will be a while before the bonds are issued, and probably next summer before the work can begin.
In the vote for the two open seats on Hudson City Council, Carmel Camp had 357 votes, and Jim Steele had 287, barely beating Namrata Carolan, who had 279 votes.
