December 5, 2011 —
For the past twelve years, the Hudson Community Choir has brought the gift of music to the holiday season through a Christmas Cantata. The tradition continues this year.
For three evenings, December 9, 10, and 11, 2011, “Tapestry of Light” by Joseph Martin will be performed. The Friday and Saturday concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m., and the Sunday concert will begin at 3:00 p.m.
This year’s cantata will contain very familiar Celtic music put to Christmas lyrics. The audience will appreciate recognizable tunes such as “Danny Boy” and “Scarborough Fair,” among others. John Enerson will again provide narration to bridge the songs with the Christmas Story. Jan Rickard connects the orchestra and choir with her piano talents, and Cyndi Wolf will again wield the baton to direct the musicians. Special music will be provided by Pat Bacalia, Kathi Frank, Cathy Johnston, and Dave Rickard.
There is no charge for the event, although a free will donation will be accepted to benefit the choir and the Hudson Ministerial Association’s food pantry. Please join us this year for this holiday tradition in Hudson.
