The National Football Foundation and the local Toledo, Ohio, chapter would like to announce an upcoming awards ceremony to be held Monday, March 8th. The event will honor 30 high school athletes from northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan areas. Also, 15 high school coaches from the same areas will be honored at this annual event. Hudson High School head football coach Chris Luma will be among those honored for achievements from the past fall football season. Luma led the Tigers to a school-record 13 wins and to the championship game in division 7.
The event includes dinner and the awards banquet starting at 6:00. The ticket for the event to be held at The Pinnacle in Maumee, Ohio, will cost $45.
The proceeds from the banquet will go towards supporting scholarships for area athletes in the Toledo Chapter of the NFF. There will be a silent auction for various items along a live auction for two very impressive items. First, will be the “Michigan Experience”, which includes attending the Michigan-Illinois game on November 6th with field passes for two, attending the team meal before the game and more. The other item for auction will be two Super Bowl tickets for the 2011 game. The guest speaker at the event will be U of M head football coach Rich Rodriguez.
