December 11, 2015 —
The 16th annual Hudson Christmas Cantata takes place this weekend at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The times are 7:30 on Friday and Saturday, and 3 PM on Sunday.
This year’s group has over eighty singers and an orchestra of sixteen. The choir has practiced since October 5th and has worked hard to present a wonderful evening of Christmas song and tradition.
As a volunteer organization, many people are counted on to do various tasks. Bob Van Hemert, Wayne Gutierrez and Rev. Terry Bobzein set up sound and orchestra equipment every time we practice. Volunteers from the First Congregational Church and Sacred Heart Parish set up chairs for the rehearsals.
The Hudson Community Choir is pleased to have our soloists Pat Bacalia from Kalamazoo and Rick Milligan from Hillsdale join us this year, and they are sure you will also enjoy the singing of Beth Town on our first and last numbers.
This local event supports the Hudson Food Pantry which the surrounding community has joyfully supported. As the choir begins the performance, a newly formed Chimes Choir will greet guests under the direction of Bev Blasiman.
The choir hopes the music of the season will bless you and your family.
