GREAT BEAN PARADE
I would like to thank all of the participants in the Great Bean
Parade. Thanks also go out to the anonymous donor who thinks the
community children (and young at heart) deserve parades now and then. .
Judges Jan Sheely and Pam Smoke had a tough time deciding
on the winners. The winners who received $50 each were as follows: Best
Float was Sacred Heart, Best Unit was Jim Rice and his
horse patrol, Best Walking Unit was the Beautiful Bubbie’s Babes Red
Hat Club, Best Decorated Bike was Lucas Durling, and best pet
entry was given to two entries: The Safari Luau by Jared Middel,
and the Panda/Lion Zoo Parade by Tori, Jada, and Kameron
Bellfy. Marty Marken at Evergreen Golf Course deserves a big
thank you for the loan of the golf cart to organize the parade and all
of the different events that went on during the festival. Joann
Crater deserves a hearty thank you for helping line up the entries,
and Charlie Weir and the other officers deserve thanks in helping
manage the parade.
