Going-away Party 303rd MP Company of Jackson

THE HUDSON AMERICAN LEGION played host on Monday evening to a going-away party to over 150 troopers from the 303rd MP Company of Jackson, MI, who are in the process of deploying to Iraq. The unit took a few hours off of packing and other preparations for their departure to enjoy steaks and fellowship at the Legion. While the unit is from Jackson, four troopers are from Lenawee County; there are some from other states as far away as Minnesota. There was a going-away parade for the unit in Jackson on Tuesday to wish them well for the next year.

AMONG THOSE DEPLOYING to Iraq are Hudsonites First Sergeant Scott Frantz and Staff Sergeant Daneill Shillingsford, at right. Both have many years in the reserves, and are looking forward to the experience of serving in Iraq. Frantz has reportedly been trying to get deployed there for three years.
