Ed Engle, Jr. has
been selected as Rima’s Worker of the Month for February. Ed joined Rima
on May 1, 1970 after receiving his Bachelors Degree from DePauw
University and receiving his law school degree from Toledo University in
1967. After a short time working in the legal profession Ed’s father
asked Ed to join Rima as a Sales Representative. Ed served as a Sales
Rep for several years and later became Rima’s President and CEO while
Ed, Sr. continued to serve on the Board of Directors. The Rima team
presents this award to Ed as a token of our appreciation and gratitude
for the ongoing commitment he has made to this organization. Ed is a
very caring, honest, ethical, generous person. If you have a problem Ed
is always there to offer assistance. Vice President of Finance, Brad
Harsh commended Ed. “I support the nomination of Ed Engle for Worker of
the Month for several reasons. During the last six to eight months, Ed
has spent many tedious hours diligently working on tasks that were
imminently pertinent to the future of Rima. Luckily for all of us at
Rima, Ed possesses the desire and ability to meticulously scrub legal
documents to assure the wellbeing and best interest to Rima and its
employees. I commend his perseverance and dedication to this task. We
were successful in this endeavor due mainly to Ed’s attention to detail
and his desire for Rima to be successful. Ed thank you for these
strengths that you bring to Rima.' Vice President of Operations, Debi
Odette added. “I nominated Ed for this honor to acknowledge him for the
true leader that he is. During this very challenging year, Ed was able
to stay focused on the really important issues even if it meant working
many grueling hours, seven days a week for several months on end. Ed was
forced to make very difficult decisions during the last year and I
appreciate that he was there for us when it mattered most. Thanks Ed"
Jed Engle, Vice President of Sales and Marketing stated. “I support the
nomination of my father based on his performance and leadership through
2005. Without challenge, 2005 was the worst year of business that I can
remember since I started working at Rima full-time. Between unreasonable
customer demands and a tough economic climate, Rima was not in a
position to afford any mistakes. Ed was involved in several negotiations
that required compiling, comprehending, and negotiating documents that
were 20 - 25 pages in length. He spent countless hours during the week
and on the weekends to make sure that he addressed all of the details
and that Rima’s best interests were always looked out for. As the leader
of this company, he made decisions last year that were not favorable,
but quite necessary to our ongoing success. I admire his courage not
only to make those decisions, but also to follow through on those
actions. This company is in a better place than in 2005 based on his
leadership.” Ed and Jennifer are the proud parents of five children,
Anne, Laura, Jed, Elizabeth and Joshua. They also have eleven
grandchildren which they enjoy immensely. Ed spends all of his free time
with his grandkids and is working on being the best Grandpa that he can
be. In addition to participating in community activities, Ed also enjoys
serving on the HOSTS program at Lincoln Elementary School and takes
great pleasure in his harness horses.
