RACHEL
SCHROEDER is presented with the Kiwanis Senior of the Month award by
Hudson Police Chief and Kiwanian Charles Wier.
The February
Senior of the Month from Hudson High is Rachel Schroeder, who
excels academically and in the area of volunteerism.
Rachel became a
National Honor Society member in her sophomore year, and has received
science, mathematics, English and computers academic awards in multiple
years. She also received academic letters in her freshman, sophomore
and junior years. Last year she was named to the American Legion
Auxiliary Girls State.
Rachel was a
Science Olympiad in her freshman and junior years. She was in concert
band and marching band her first two years of high school.
Rachel has been
very active in her church’s youth group, including the Sacred Heart
Church Festival. She has assisted for two years with Special Olympics,
and for four years with the hospice tree lighting event.
She works
part-time at Bobbye’s Dairyland, as a tutor and a babysitter.
Rachel plans to
Central Michigan University this fall and major in Actuary Science. She
is the daughter of Tom and Sue Schroeder of Hudson.
