Professor John
Shelle son of Mary and Norbert Shelle of
Hudson was
recognized this spring for his contributions to the College of
Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University. John
received three awards during spring semester 2007. He received the
Distinguished Service for Study Abroad Programs Award for his
development of two overseas study programs in
Ireland,
a semester exchange program with Enniskillen College of Agriculture in
Northern Ireland and a three week study tour conducted annually in May.
Dr. Shelle was also recognized by the Institute of Agricultural
Technology as the Outstanding Faculty Member for 2007. John joined the
faculty in 1984 to start the Horse Management Program in the Institute
which has grown to be one of its most successful programs. This is the
second time he has received this award. At the annual College Awards
Banquet John was honored with the Howard and Lili Ann Camden Endowed
Creativity/Teacher/Scholar Award. This recognition is given annually to
the outstanding Teacher in the College and recognizes faculty who have
made outstanding contributions to undergraduate programs.
