Leffingwell Estates
Community Center Building
THE
NEW COMMUNITY CENTER building at Leffingwell Estates has been completed.
The building will give the residents of the mobile home park a place to
gather for community events. The building was built with a reinforced
basement so it can serve as a tornado shelter for the residents of the
park.
Leaf Pickup Complications
THE
HUDSON CITY DPW crews have had a more complicated time than normal
picking up leaves this year, as the warmer than normal month of October
caused some trees to stay green while others lost their leaves. There
were a couple light frosts in October, but none hard enough to really
kick in the color season, which was rather drab this year.

MSU vs. U of M Pep
Rally at Sacred Heart
Sacred
Heart School Students wore their favorite team colors to school this
past Thursday to show their teams pride for the MSU vs. Michigan pep
rally. Fun was had by all, including Mrs. Johnston who was
rocked like a baby to the MSU Fight Song by Adrian Colleges, Taz
Wallace, who was masquerading as a Michigan State football player.
MSU beat Michigan at the pep rally, but didn’t fair so well this past
weekend. Thanks to everyone who made the pep rally fun for everyone!!

December 2nd Slated for Lights of Love
Once again, Hospice of Lenawee is sponsoring the “Lights of Love”
remembrance trees in the communities of Adrian, Blissfield, Clinton,
Hudson, Morenci, Onsted and Tecumseh. These holiday trees will be lit on
Sunday, December 2, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at a special lighting ceremony
with a reception following. The public is welcome to attend the lighting
ceremony of their choice.
It is
currently planned for a group from the Hudson Community Cantata to give
a short program at the festivities, which will be held at the Hudson
Community Center as in previous years. There will also be refreshments
available for the public following the program.
The
Hudson Community Cantata will be December 7 and 8 at 7:30 PM and
December 9 at 3:00 PM.
The
purpose of the trees is two-fold. Hospice of Lenawee erects these trees
in memory of the families which Hospice has served since its inception
in 1982. The community is also invited to place lights on the trees in
memory or in honor of those they wish to remember in this most special
way. Amidst the gaiety of the holidays, the remembrance trees offer a
point of stillness where people are remembered in an elegant way. When a
light is dedicated, the Hospice will send a letter to the family
acknowledging the dedication.
Free
will donations may be made to the Hospice and will be used to further
the work of Hospice throughout the community.
Call
Hospice of Lenawee at (517) 263-2323 if you have any questions.
