The Fleet of Tiger Taxis was stranded by snow on Monday, as ten inches of the white stuff hit the area over the weekend

Winter storm brings a white Christmas

All those that have been wishing for a white Christmas around Hudson this holiday season probably received their wish a little early, when a huge winter storm dumped a foot or more of snow on the Hudson area last weekend. Although it's still a week until Christmas, the amount of snow and the forecast cold weather means that there should still be some of the white stuff on the ground for the holiday.

But in the short run, digging out was something of a mess after the Saturday night/Sunday morning blast of winter.

City crews were on the streets at 4 AM both Sunday and Monday mornings, and on Tuesday were still working at the cleanup.

Hudson Area Schools were closed on Monday, after two days of being closed due to icy roads last week. Most other schools around the area were closed or put on delays Monday as well.

The snow day means that the school's reserve of snow days is down to two remaining before days will have to be added to the school schedule in the spring, according to school superintendent Kathy Malnar.
