Brian
Shadbolt
Rima Worker of the Month
Brian Shadbolt has been selected as Rima’s February Worker of the Month.
Brian joined the Rima Team on January 2,2007 as our Customer Service
Representative. Brian came to us with seventeen years experience in the
precision machining business with the last two years as a Customer
Service Manager. The transition was almost seamless as Brian began in
his new capacity as Rima’s Customer Service Representative.
Quality Manager, Tia Colagiovanni
stated. “I wanted to nominate Brian as our Worker of the Month because
of our recent success with Dana Thermal Products. Dana has become an
important customer for Rima not only because of the current work we have
with them, but also for our large potential for growth in the immediate
future. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and work with several
representatives from Dana over the past six months. We’ve worked
together on new jobs and on the new take over work occurring in the Acme
Area as we speak. What I noticed when working with the people from Dana
is that they have a lot of respect for Rima as a company and for each of
us as employees. They appreciate the quality of product that we produce,
and the customer service they receive. Customer service for them means;
going out of our way to help them out of a bind sometimes, but offering
creative machining solutions and competitive prices. I felt during my
communications and meetings with Dana that Brian had represented Rima
very well. Brian has a huge impact on our reputation throughout Dana and
it is a very good reputation. We have some important people at Dana
pulling for Rima to become a more high volume supplier for them and I’m
sure Brian has a lot to do with that. Thank you Brian.”
Rima’s
President, Ed Engle praised Brian in-the following fashion. -”Brian
understands the delicate “balancing act” that a sales person must
perform in serving both Rima’s interests and those of our potential
customers. At the beginning of any sales relationship, two
points-of-view exist that are often very different. As time evolves,
each side must be drawn to common middle. Understanding the issues that
surround that middle place and communicating them well to both sides is
what Brian does best. When the “in between” space shrinks enough, Rima
receives the new work. Of equal importance to this sales process is the
fact that Brian understands the complexity of the details in the “gap”
and is able to guide both sides to solutions that are acceptable to
each. Brian’s ability to deal with these elements helps Rima
successfully complete our sales cycle.”
Vice
President of Sales and Marketing, Jed Engle reiterated. “I can’t say
enough about Brian’s skill as a salesperson. Due to his background in
Quality and Customer Service Brian is extremely skilled in dealing with
customer situations and making sure everyone gets taken care of. He
doesn’t bring issues back, hand them off, and return to the customer
with a response. Brian will own an issue and be involved with it until
it reaches an amiable solution. He knows exactly what parts fit Rima and
he doesn’t spend his time looking for the wrong opportunities. Brian is
one of the main reasons that we are filling current capacity with new
work.”
Salesperson, Tim Stanley summed it up by saying. “My process of writing
about Brian started with a list of attributes. Brian is a great
listener; respected by customers; excited about his job; great team
member; and committed to success. All of these items lead me back to his
motto: ‘Do what is right every time.’ This statement speaks to the depth
of Brian’s commitment to Rima and our customers. He knows that we sell
quality parts, delivered on time and backed up by great customer
service. His commitment to make these things happen every time drives
Rima’s success. Brian is a great asset to Rima and will be an important
team member for many years.”
Brian
and Linda reside in Morenci. They are the proud parents of two adult
sons, Ryan and Chad. In their spare time the family enjoys camping.
Brian also enjoys shopping on E-Bay. In the summer Brian likes to use
his metal detector to search for lost item. He has found quite a few
interesting items, including some jewelry. Congratulations Brian!
