SIDEWALK DAYS, 1960 Pa Kerr is the Sheriff and Bessie Sattler was a saloon gal in the lockup. Walter Rupp is the man in the plaid suit.


BRANTS HOTEL, located at 114 N. Market St. Tom Brandt purchased the hotel from the original owner Rodney Witherell about April, 1910. Mr. and Mrs. Brandt are the man and woman at the left side of the group. The little girl in the center is Doris Brant; the rest are boarders. The building was torn down about 1948 by Pete Spadafora when he opened his bowling alley.

CHAFF BASEBALL TEAM, organized in May, 1882. They played at Driving Park (now the site of the Waste Water Treatment Plant), The name was taken from a newspaper published in Detroit of the time. The men in the photo are believed to be (back row) Eugene Knapp, Mike Wagner, Dewey Rhead, Frank Dickenson, Fred George, Jim Deacon and Charles Haynes. Seated are Charles Capren and Will Seewald. This photo is believed to be dated about 1889.
