CHAFF BASEBALL TEAM, organized in May,
1882. They played at Driving Park (now the site of the Waste Water
Treatment Plant), The name was taken from a newspaper published in
Detroit of the time. The men in the photo are believed to be (back row)
Eugene Knapp, Mike Wagner, Dewey Rhead, Frank Dickenson, Fred George,
Jim Deacon and Charles Haynes. Seated are Charles Capren and Will
Seewald. This photo is believed to be dated about 1889. |
